Wey Valley Solar hits record generation in 2022

Generation across Wey Valley Solar’s 10 schools and St. Paul’s church, Addlestone hit a record high in 2022. Overall generation was up by nearly 9% over 2021. Broadwater School in Farncombe was the star performer with a hike of over 60%. Across the portfolio, George Abbot school, generated the most electricity from its Solar PV array at over 145,000 kWh.

Wey Valley Solar director, Nigel Roby said “It’s the first time the co-op has generated over 500,000 kWh of solar electricity across our schools. We couldn’t be more pleased – not least because the more electricity the panels generate, the more our schools save on their bills, In difficult times for school funding, that’s very important.”
